Inside a modern corn starch factory: the hydrocyclone station

Date Issued:2026-06-13

If you’ve ever visited a wet milling plant, you know that separating starch from protein is messy and water‑intensive – unless you have the right equipment.

The starch washing hydrocyclone station changes the game. Here’s what it does:

  1. Centrifugal separation – Faster, cleaner, and more precise than any gravity method.

  2. Countercurrent washing – Fresh water only enters at the last stage, then moves backward through the cyclones. This means you use the least water to get the purest starch.

  3. Modular design – Add more stages (6, 8, 10, or 12) to achieve even higher purity.

The result?
Starch protein content <0.3%
Whiteness meets top food/pharma standards
Water consumption cut by 50%+ compared to old systems

Huatao’s hydrocyclones are made of food‑grade 304 stainless steel, are easy to clean, and can run 24/7 with minimal maintenance.

Available for corn, potato, cassava, sweet potato, wheat, and bean starches.
